Pictured: The caterpillar brush In a recent talk on GPU-accelerated Flash for the Flash PDX user group, I showed a little brush application which demonstrated the difference between using Pixel Bender as a filter as opposed to Flash's native filters. That little application is called "Caterpillar" and I figured I may as well share it here. Follow the link below, then drag your mouse around to draw. Link: http://www.bantherewind.com/uploads/caterpillar/ Press the "space" key to toggle between the Pixel Bender filter, Flash's native filter, and no filter. Pixel Bender is on by default. The PBK was written to match Flash's blur, only it runs much faster. Try resizing the window. The higher the resolution, the bigger the difference between the two. However, even the PB version slows down at very high resolutions. The code for the Pixel Bender Kernel is here, if interested: Blur.pbk
